About The ACP (African Connections Project)
SASLHA is a professional association for South African Speech Therapists and Audiologists. It supports them to practice legally and ethically and provides them with resources to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.
The African Connections Project (ACP) is an extension of SASLHA’s services and aims to promote the fields of Speech Therapy and Audiology in the rest of Africa, by creating networking opportunities for professionals working in those fields in other African countries. It also aims to make the referral to those professionals easier, by making a database of the professionals available online to patients looking for services, or to professionals who need to refer patients to professionals in their home country.
It also aims to act as a resource centre for information relating to the professions, including information about academic institutions in Africa that offer training in the professions. It is hoped that this will encourage academic collaboration between African academics and South African and international ones.
